Russell and Carl from the movie Up Dogs Costume

Our pets Diesel (9 year old chihuahua mix) and Maximus (13 year old basset hound) dressed up as the characters from the movie Up, Russell and Carl, for Halloween this year. They're both great sports every year! In past years they have been know as Wilson and Tom Hanks from Castaway, Mario and Luigi, and the Cookie Monster and the Grouch from Sesame Street. It's great fun making their costumes and dressing them up. This year I bought children's shirts at Goodwill and transformed them to fit the pups. I used pillowcases instead of fabric to make the sash and hat (also purchased at Goodwill). I paid $13 for the above clothing/material. Many of the other details were constructed with things I had lying around the house. A few other purchases were made to finish the project (paint, markers, etc. that will be used for future projects as well) all in all totaling approximately $100. The Up house was made from the boxes our recently purchased Sleep Number bed came in. Who could waste a good large box?!
