A word from Sunny, the 'Rockford Peach Baseball Player' costume creator:

My daughter, Sawyer Magrum, is in a 'League of Her Own' in her Rockford Peach uniform made by her grandma, Glenda McBride. Sawyer has 3 older brothers who all play high school and middle school baseball. She will be 2 in December and has already been to over 150 baseball games! She loves everything; the popcorn, the dirt, playing catch, and she cheers on her brothers. Her daddy wanted her to be a baseball player for Halloween so we made her a Peach. A Rockford peach that is! My mom has been making costumes for her children and grandchildren for 37 years and each one has a special meaning. She made this a-line dress out of muslin and added pink ribbon around the neckline. The belt was made with a shiny buckle and braided material. She cut down a pair of her brother's baseball socks to fit her and painted red hearts on her cleats. Her costume was a big hit! Sawyer ended up on page 3 of our local newspaper! She ran and got her bat when she got her cleats on and started swinging it. Grandma's time was well worth every second. Total cost with the patches and everything was $70.
