Neptune the Alien's UFO Landing Costume

Neptune the golden retriever is an out of this world alien with six arms, a giant brain head, and a green tongue. Watch out if his UFO lands on your planet, because he just might abduct your heart!

We made Neptune’s alien costume by cutting off alien arms from inflatable aliens, then stuffing them and sealing them shut. We then attached them to a shiny green shirt. We cut a hole out of an alien mask and attached the eyeball from it to the top of the head. Neptune dyed his tongue green by licking green ice pops. We made the UFO from foam board, which we cut into panels and glued to circular rims. We cut triangular sections out of foam board to fill in between each panel. We outlined each triangular section with gold studs and also added a row of larger studs along the middle of each one. We covered the larger panels with shiny silver fabric, and added accents to the rims with green fake leather, foil, and plastic shapes. We finished it off by cutting the fire colored pieces from foil curtains and gluing them along the bottom rim. There was a large hole through all the sections of the UFO so that when it was placed over Neptune’s head, it went up to about his waist, leaving the fire pieces hanging down.
