This homemade costume for boys entered our 2019 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Diana, the 'Blue Dragon' costume creator:
This is my son Roman James Ruffalo. He decided he wanted to be a blue dragon this year. I searched far and wide and couldnt find a costume to buy anywhere. I purchased the mask and wings and gave them a make over. Sprayed them a flat bright blue and then a metallic blue on top of that.
For Roman's told and bottom, I just took an old pair or pants and long sleeve shirt that he was not going to use anymore. I used black foam paper traced scales on them. Spray painted them the 2 different types of blue. Cut and glue gunned them to the garment staggering every other scale.
There are about 300 scales on the outfit.
The outfit is nice and light from the foam so I haven't had any complaints from him. We love it so far and have been getting tons of compliments.
