This homemade costume for men entered our 2022 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Jared, the 'Travis Barker' costume creator:

For the first time ever, my band decided to play a Halloween Weekend gig and that meant that we all had to dress up for it, which was music to my costume-loving ears. I floated around a few different ideas and went back and forth between 2-3, but ultimately settled on Travis Barker since he's a really great drummer and he has a very distinct look. I also sort of look like him and have his tall, lanky body type, so it just made sense.

The main aspect of the costume is to match Travis' look as much as possible, so I did a lot of Googling to get a good feel for his clothing, tattoos and fashion style before I started buying all the accessories online. He has 108+ total tattoos and it's not realistic to acquire *all* of them, so I did what I could with what was available. I also decided that I would wear one of his signature band shirts instead of going topless because that would've meant 80 more tattoos, not to mention, me being topless in front of hundreds of people in New York City.

All of the tattoos on my face, neck and arms are temporary and were applied by my wife, who is a very skillful artist when it comes to these sorts of things. We did the front of the neck first, then the back of it, and then the face, the latter of which was drawn on via a makeup pencil. That was the bulk of the tattoo work, and then we used 4 separate arm sleeve tattoos to cover as much area there as possible.

For accessories, I bought the beanie, a spiky chain necklace, two spiky bangle wristbands, some jogger pants, a skull chain that I wore on the pants, the Judas Prist t-shirt and a nose ring. I almost opted to get blue contact lenses to match his eyes but I didn't go that far since that might have affected my drumming. For the final touch, I walked around with a pair of my drumsticks since that's his main prop.

The costume got a great reaction and a lot of people said that I looked just like him, which was very cool! Definitely a fun one to walk around in.

Where'd you get these temporary tattoos? My bf wants to be him this year, but doesn't want it to look stupid.
