A word from Isabel, the 'Phoenix Rising' costume creator:

My name's Isabel Tatoiu, I'm wearing the costume #1. I made the feathered headpiece from colourful boas purchased from a local Party Store. The 3-pc gold costume was ordered on Ebay, and the 2 piece top & hip belt were custom made in Egypt. The theme for the costume is Universal in nature. In Greek Mythology the “Phoenix Rising” is a mythological bird that rises from the ashes of its predecessor. Sources say that after the “Phoenix” dies in a fireworks display of flames and combustion, he is reborn. Anew is he!For me, the “Phoenix Rising” signifies a period of “rebirth and renewal” in the human mind, spirit, and body. During this transitional process, we can take the opportunity to “reinvent” ourselves to reach our higher good and potential, which is most beneficial for the betterment of humankind!Though the Golden Phoenix is purely mythological in nature, the concept of rebirth and renewal is beautiful!
PHOTO 2: I'm wearing the costume of a "Spanish Mexican Dancer" holding a pair castanets in her hands. Costume from ebay, headpiece hand made.
PHOTO 3: "Witchy Woman" I'm wearing the costume, pieces of which came from my closet and a few online purchases.
PHOTO 4: "Hawaiian Luau Dancer" I'm wearing the costume, pieces of which are ordered from ebay (grass skirts, top & hip belt). Uli ulis (feathered gords are from Hawaii, custom made).
PHOTO 5: "Belly Dancer" I'm wearing silver "Wings of Isis" from Egypt and a silver costume.
Isabel Tatoiu.
