Money for Nothin' Costume

Being a kid of a ‘80s and loving the Dire Straits music video Money for Nothing, I decided to don a makeshift costume that paid homage to the video and the group’s lead singer, Mark Knopfler.

I wore my black dress shoes and got fluorescent-looking blue pajama pants with green wrist bands designed for walking or jogging outdoors at night. The wrist bands had three speeds to them. One that light, another that chronically flickered—-simulating part of the beginning of the band’s introduction in the video with Mark Knopfler playing his guitar.

The t-shirt I purchased online because the image was perfect. I donned a stretchable sport coat and used both a paper cardboard cutout of a guitar and a plastic blowup red balloon guitar.
