Jurassic Park - Dennis Nedry Costume

Jurassic Park is one of my favourite movies and I thought the Dennis Nedry character had a lot of potential as a costume idea. I created a Dilophosaurus out of paper mache and painted it based on images from the movie and from online pictures. I used paper plates to create the top rounded plate shapes on the head. I created the fan around the neck from cardstock and tissue paper to give it texture. I secured the dinosaur to my jacket using zip ties that I built into the bottom feet. I used a paint stir stick with holes in it on the inside to keep the legs stable and apart. I used shoelaces around the arms and had them go through the jacket as well. Then I painted them to match the body so they were camouflaged. I ordered the Barbasol/dinosaur DNA can from a shop on Etsy, but filled the tubes myself using water and food colouring. I created the venom on my face from black makeup mixed with water, glycerine and gelatin. I also made is ID badge and wore a wig. Overall, this costume was a blast to make and it has become one of my favourite costumes I have made.
