Bowser Costume

My son, Jack, wanted to be Bowser for Halloween. We could not find any commercial costumes for this Super Mario Bros villain, so we improvised. We used an old Pokemon yellow bodysuit and sewed on a white fleece turtle tummy, a yellow fleece tail, and fleece feet. We used a green lantern mask, a clown wig, and glued in some white fleece horns. We cut out 2 pieces of the wig to be used as Bowser's eyebrows. For the shell, we started with sturdy cardboard. We then sewed green fleece into a shell shape around the cardboard. We stuffed with polyfill, added a border and horns to the shell, and attached with velcro covered by yellow fleece padding. For the horns, we used styrofoam cones, and covered with fleece. We added biker arm and neck bands. His little sister was Princess Peach, of course.
