Tin Man and Scarecrow Costume

My boyfriend and I are dressed as Tin Man and Scarecrow from The Wizard of Oz. We wanted to do something instantly recognisable, but with a lot of room for creative details.
Breece, my boyfriend, welded the Tin Man from raw sheet metal. The two weeks he spent managing his welder in the garage was punctuated by seemingly endless trips to the hardware store.
Our best advice to take home from this experience is to just see the project through to the end. We got in way over our heads, but we kept at it. Even on days we didnt see any progress or had major set backs. We just had to keep going. So never give up and dont be afraid to do a project for yourself :)
