Kids especially love dressing up for Halloween and if you've looked at the costumes you can buy off-the-rack you know that they're very expensive, they're very poorly made and they look totally cheesy. Not to mention the fact that your kid ends up looking like every other kid in town and how much fun is that?

Sure, some of these kids probably had an adult involved somewhere in the creation, but you can tell by looking at these kids that this is the best costume they've ever had. And it's all because they got to use their imagination.

Halloween costumes don't have to be expensive or time-consuming to make. Some of these creations were whipped up on a whim, only an hour or two before the party. And most are made with items you find around your home or with bits and pieces picked up at thrift stores for just a few bucks. Overall, most cost less than you'd spend for a ready-made costume you buy at the store.
