This homemade costume for kids entered our 2011 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Sheila, the 'Jelly Fish' costume creator:

For the head: I used a large circular hat and wrapped top with bubble wrap and made a shiny cloth cover. (Which I used the sewing machine and velcro to secure). Very light blue transparent on top and dark shiny blue on bottom to look like a dome.

For the body: I used white fleece and mad a basic top and a split skirt. I then used white transparent fabric and made elastic skirt to go over fleece skirt. For the top I used the same transparent fabric and cut a hole to slip over the head.

For the tenacles: I used various ribbon and hot glued them on the underside of the dome. I also attached one flashy necklace which once dark reflected off the transparent fabric and look really neat in the dark.
