A word from Jayne, the '2D Sketches in a 3D World' costume creator:
The idea was inspired by artists, Alexa Meade and Josh Vides. The clothing ensemble was inspired by the Disney movie, “Descendants.” My 3 children’s costumes represent 2-dimensional drawings. It took about 2 hours to find all the clothing, shoes, and other accessories at a second hand store. Overall, it cost about $70 and 1 week to accomplish the look; the majority of the cost went towards black and white acrylic paint.
1. Pick a theme
2. Buy cheap clothing
3. Paint everything with Titanium White acrylic paint (lots of coats)
4. Outline the clothing with black paint/sharpie
