A word from Jennifer, the 'Young Fairy Maleficent' costume creator:
This is my daughter Violet dressed in a homemade young fairy Maleficent costume. It's inspired by the 2014 Angelina Jolie movie Maleficent. My daughter & I both loved the movie so we decided to try it! This is only the second costume I've ever made!
The wings were made with a cardboard frame, fur lining from a coat given to me by my dad, scraps from an old table cloth for the horns on the wings, & the harness holding them was an old guitar hero guitar strap I got from a thrift store. Cost=$3
The horns have a cardboard frame, were wrapped in duct tape & then covered with a lining from a jacket I got at a thrift store. Cost=$2
The dress is from Salvation Army. Trimmed up the sleeves to fit & made a slit down the back to make it easy to hide the harness. $3
Also made pointy ears using liquid latex
(Lantern was just a prop for the pictures)
Total cost was $15! Most of the supplies were stuff I had lying around & thrift store finds! Most expensive thing was the liquid latex for the ears
