Witch Burning at the Stake Costume

My daughter is wearing the costume. We have been thinking over this costume for a few years. We knew we wanted to do something wicked this year. I knew I could do a bit better and wanted it more realistic. It is a piligrim's costume at the base, hoop skirt underneath and then felt cut like flames and different colored taffeta ribbons put on the dress. There are flickering fire lights on the bottom of the dress which are hard to see in the daytime. I also burned the dress, which I think was a subtle but really important detail using one of those flameless lighters. I used rope to tie around wrists individually like bracelets and the waist and there was a "pole" (which is really just a long cardboard tube from a long gift wrap) that I fixed to the dress so that she could put her hands up and it would like she was tied to the stake. Overall it was probably a total of $75 dollars for everything to make the dress.
