A word from Phoebe, the 'Three Headed Agent Cooper' costume creator:

I love Twin Peaks and thought that this year would be the perfect time to pay tribute to Agent Cooper on Halloween. I wanted to somehow reference all three of Kyle MacLachlan's characters from the newest season and the idea to rig a Cerberus style costume came to me about a week before Halloween weekend, which is usually how it goes every year and makes for a pretty sleepless week!

I started by sculpting a general face shape in polymer clay and then using paper mache to build it up into some semblance of his actual features. The challenge was definitely trying to make both a scowling and smiling face that looked similar enough to belong to the same person, and while I still think they could look better I'm satisfied with my first attempt at human faces. For the shirt I sewed 3 collared shirts together so I could have 3 neck holes and glued snakeskin fabric that I'd found at a thrift store onto one. I also spray painted a white blazer lime green and cut it in half, sewing it to another half of a leather jacket (both also thrift store finds.) I glued the finished faces onto styrofoam wig heads, cut a shinguard into two piece and mounted the heads to each by hollowing out a hole for the neck and hot glueing them into place. I used duct tape across an undershirt to keep the shinguards and heads on my shoulders, and the jacket/shirt helped keep them relatively study throughout the night. I printed out the image of his FBI badge, layered it over catdstock with Modpodge, and carried a mug that I bought in Washington when I visited the actual dinner they filmed at.

The costume probably came out to $80 in expenses for the two wigs, the jackets, head forms, and extra paints. People seemed to really enjoy the costume even if they hadn't seen the latest season, or the show in general, and it actually ended up being the least cumbersome costume I've worn in a few years!
