A word from Marcy, the 'The Sea Witch' costume creator:

I am wearing the costume myself. I have been dreaming up the idea to do a sea creature/witch of my own design for a long time and finally put it together this year. The bilateral forehead prosthetics are hand made with sculpting clay, toothpicks, cotton balls, and liquid latex. I did utilize pre made pointed ear prosthetics as a base to work with to create ear spines. I used dental picks to create a vertical spine ridge up the center of my forehead. I used a bald cap with 5 holes cut in a Mohawk pattern to pull my dreadlocks through. I braided the 5 bundles of locs and then wrapped them with pulled wool yarn. The makeup look involves concealing the eyebrow with glue sticks and a small putty knife. All other makeup is basic over the counter products I use on the daily basis. Once the makeup was complete I used liquid latex to attach sequin and pearl embellishments and false eyelashes. I used four vampire dental caps to create a fang look. I repurposed a broken pitchfork as a trident scepter, I just had to spray paint it to a color matching my theme, reattach to a different pole, and wrapped it in cotton athletic tape painted with a metallic bronze acrylic color. I used Halloween gauze fabric to create the two piece top and skirt outfit. I am so pleased with the final outcome on this creation.
