The Alien Crew Costume

Dad is wearing a homemade Alien costume that took five months to build. Inside the head is a bike helmet glued to plastic from bottles of soda and cardboard, then covered in paper mache and foam. Detail on the sides of the head were added with plastic hoses and gap filler foam spray. The teeth are made of clay. The body is cardboard, plastic tubes and a rubber skeleton rib cage. The tail is duct tape (four rolls of duct tape were used for our costumes). Everything was spray painted black and worn over a spandex suit. Mom is Ripley, Sigourney Weaver’s character, with a homemade flamethrower made of cardboard and foam. Our daughters are wearing a facehugger alien mask (store bought) and a chest burster alien prop (purchased from Etsy).
