A word from April, the 'Predator' costume creator:

This is my sons Predator costume. He has been talking about being the Predator for over a year. Our fingers and hands were dead after making this. We used lots of cardboard, spray paint, and hot glue. All of his armor is made out of cardboard. His bodysuit is a nude morph suit that I painted with acrylic paint. I had him wear it and wear some fishnets while I painted to give some scales for the reptile look. It was a very strange sight to see my 11 year old in a nude morph suit with a one piece fishnet outfit on so we could get the colors and look painted correctly lol. My poor son. We added some string lights in his armor to make it light up. We painted tape with markers to give the red and blue colors. His belt is made out or faux leather. The skirt is just got glued onto the belt. The animal skeletons are just tied to a random craft rope. He has a mask we purchased but we added wire hangers to each dread to make them fall down better. We also sliced holes for breathing. The blades in his armor are made out of craft foam. He has two sets of fishnets on one for the top one for the bottom. His shoes are thrifted women sandles that we cut and painted. The armor stays on with hot glued straps we took off of a bag. The shin armor stays on with hot glued elastic. He’s arm armor stays on with hot glued elastic. We pressed on black nails on his morph suit. He has cut off old work gloves. He has an old face mask as his neck cover. The skull with the spine is an old Halloween decoration we gutted and added a piece of plastic that we covered with old fabric. His cup and thigh/hip armor is cardboard glued on to the skirt. We worked on it over the span of two and a half weeks every evening when me and my husband got out of work.. So many burn blisters, sore fingers, aching backs, painted skin that’s still coming off….but my son was sooooo stoked. We finished it on Halloween so he just used this for trick or treating. All the older people recognized him from the movie and all the kids said your the guy from fortnite lol
