A word from Kimberly, the 'Phoenix' costume creator:

I originally wanted to be a flamingo but a friend told me I didn't have long enough legs to pull it off:)so I decided to go with a Phoenix instead. I am wearing the Phoenix costume that I created from a thrift store dress that I painted flames on, wings I made from cardboard and bulletin board paper based on a tutorial from sunnybrooke1 @ deviantart.com. I made the mask from an old creamer container that I cut out, papier mached and painted. The shoes are a thrift store find covered in glitter glue. The body paint is regular acrylic craft paint. I am not sure what the total cost of the costume is because I really didn't keep track as it was made over the course of several months.
