This homemade costume for adults entered our 2016 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Robert, the 'Magic Butterfly' costume creator:

Since I can't take pictures of myself wearing the costume (its too big) I have the costume on a mannequin I made myself.

The costume is made up of several dollar-store hoola-hoops, some sheets, about 20 meters of LED strip and a micro-controller to do the work, and a large capacity battery.

The lights all run from custom software I wrote myself.
The harness is made from a plastic-board product called "sintra" which can be heated and formed to the shape of one's back making a great back-pack that stays put because of it's custom shape.
