Jupe from the movie 'Nope' Costume

My 14 year-old son Jonah got the idea after watching Jordan Peele’s film ‘Nope.’ I only had three days to make the costume! I bought a blue suit jacket at the thrift store and a pair of red pants. I took the red pants to Joann Fabric and found matching fabric. I then re-covered the blue suit jacket with the red fabric using a combination of heat ‘n’ bond and sewing. It was pretty tedious since I have no training to making suits and I had to create a pattern by tracing the suit parts without taking the suit apart. I used Procreate to draw the images of the flowers, alien heads, and other designs, then used my Cricut machine to cut them on vinyl, then used a heat press to apply them to the jacket. We completed the look with a bolo tie and cowboy hat.
