A word from April, the 'Forky and Gabby Gabby' costume creator:

Olivia becomes Forky this year and Little Ivy is a doll, specifically Gabby Gabby. These HUGE Toy Story Fans were obsessed when Toy Story 4 came out, and with a hilarious, new character like Forky, we totally understood why. Ivy, being a new walker was perfect for the stiff legged doll Gabby Gabby and Olivia unsurprisingly wanted to be the star of Toy Story 4, Forky. Once they decided on these characters, I (mom) knew exactly what I wanted to do in order to create the Forky mask, Paper Mache. I created the basic Forky shape with wire. Then mixed up some flour, water and paste to cover that wire, front and back. Then let it dry out for a few days before painting it white and adding the details of his famous expression. The eyebrow is cut from a foam mat, the mouth made of blue duct tape and the eyes cut and painted onto cardboard before hot gluing them to the mask. His cheek blush is dabbed on with red paint and a dry brush. The mask has duct tape arm loops that helps hold up the mask hands free for trick or treating. The arms are wire shaped to resemble his arms, then covered in a red fabric slip cover. Next, I pulled out my sewing machine, made a pattern of Gabby Gabby's dress, then cut it out of fabric and stitched it together, adding a white collar, waist band and lace trim. Her hair is made from a recycled dollar tree head band wig. I cut the long wig to the appropriate length and divided it into pigtails. I took the remaining hair, spread out the with of bangs and taped one end with duct tape. I then cut the bangs down the appropriate length finished off the wig by hot gluing the new bangs to the front center of the altered headband wig. I finished off the Gabby Gabby wig with matching ribbon bows.
