FNAF's Springtrap Costume

Our 6 year old son is a huge fan of the Five Nights at Freddy’s games. It was no surprise, he wanted to be one of his fave FNAF characters from the franchise, especially since the movie premier is right around Halloween. After sketching a plan, I looked through many cosplayer tutorials via social media and YouTube. I went the cost effective route and chose poly foam rather than EVA foam. With sharp scissors, felt, elastic, lots of hot glue, wire, foam clay, spray paint, carving/sculpting techniques, and improvising, I was able to get as close to the 3D model, I found on the web. My husband installed the LED lights and we included a hinge for a simple and effective articulated jaw. Shared with his brother’s costume labor (see FNAF’s Nightmare Bonnie), the whole project took about two months.
