Emmet Brickowski Costume

My 4 year old son Evan has hit the lego brick phase and told me back in August that he wanted to be a "lego guy" which he amended to the "construction builder lego guy" aka Emmet from the lego movie. I used a cheese ball container, which made Evan ecstatic, and spray paint as the head. I cut the eye and mouth holes using my husband's dremel. The body is an open, spray painted priority mail box. The flaps are cut diagonally. The silver stripes and black belt are duct tape, and I used black sharpie and blue craft paint for details. I put duct tape stripes on a pair of orange pants I got 2nd hand from another mom in town. The tape strategically hides a hole worn in the right knee as well as competes Emmet's look. My son conveniently had a blue shirt in the perfect shade of blue that he's wearing along with a pair of lego hand gloves I'd found on clearance for $6 randomly during the target toy clearance at the end of summer. I consider it a happy accident even though I didn't make the hands by hand.
