A word from Charlene, the 'Beetleguise / Beatlejuice' costume creator:
My son and I love Halloween and after he debating on his potential costumes list that he started in May, he decided on Beetleguise! As with all of our costumes, we like them homemade and cost effective. The shoes are his, as well as the white button-up and and old tie we had. I purchased a black suit (that had to be altered) and the "Old lady" wig at goodwill for $7. I picked up a bald cap, white duct tape (for stripes) and green hairspray at walmart for about $20. I had to thin out and tease the wig quite a bit and cut the hairline back to get it right. I used liquid latex to adhere the wig to the bald cap and the moss (free!) to his hairline/jaw area, then sprayed the wig green at the roots and sporadically throughout. He sat like a champ through the hair and makeup (which we had already)!! I stained his white shirt with old coffee grinds and dirt. He won his age group at our City's costume contest and he couldn't have been happier with all of the generous compliments he received.
