Lord Raiden Costume

I am wearing my homemade Lord Raiden costume from Mortal Kombat. He was always my favorite and wanted to do it for a while now. I started with a white Snow Ninja Gi and white Tabi shoes.From there I had to find a matching earthy blue fabric for his smock which I found at a fabric store along with fabric for the black border.It is sewn double sided in case it flipped over it would still look the same.I was able to find a similar patch online for the arms but it was a circle not a square.So I took it in a CAD program and adjusted it to the right size and shape,then printed decals to apply to the gi. The arm Gauntlets I made out of leather and hand painted them.The leg gauntlets I made out of Harbor Freight square foam flooring then hand painted them as well. Now the hard part...The bamboo hat I found on Amazon as well as medical grade UV blacklight leds.I had to custom wire them with resistors so the wouldn't burn out and wired it to a 12volt on off switch hidden on the inside of the hat.For power I used a 3 cell lipo battery 1300mah,on 1 charge it can light the leds for 25 hours ! Then in my hand I carried a lightning disc that is sound activated for pics. I did buy white mesh contacts to complete the look but after trying them on I couldn't see 3 feet in front of me so I didn't use them. This was my first cosplay costume, I usually go just dressed Steampunk style. I entered the cosplay contest at Tampa bay Comic-Con 2017 and made it to the finals, I am very proud of that. When I walked in for pre-judging the judges saw me and said "We saw you out there and we were floored, awesome Raiden".
