Woodland Fawn Creature Costume

My boyfriend had some foam ram horns from a previous Halloween, so I reused them to attach to my mask.

I bought a paper maché mask, cut off the lower half, and sanded the edges smooth. I sketched out roughly what I wanted to paint on the mask, but most of the detail was to go on the upper part by the horns, which I affixed using a hot glue gun.

After priming and painting the mask in black, I then arranged plastic ivy, fern and fake flowers around the horns and put fern leaves around the eyes for eyelashes, making sure to strategically hide any seams and open areas. I then painted a simple gold detail along the brow and nose line. Before donning the mask, I covered my eyes in black makeup to blend in behind the mask.

I finished off my costume by draping the ivy around my all black outfit, and voilà!
