Van Gogh's Self Portrait Costume

I came up with the idea ultimately 3 hours before we went out to a Halloween party. With a white blazer and acrylic paints I went to town, using a gesso as a primer was crucial as the acrylic paints would just bleed through. I treated the jacket as I would a canvas and had fun with it. I didn't have any face paints, again I used gesso but had mixed it with equal parts body lotion to keep it from cracking. Then adding layers of acrylic to give it depth. My hair is naturally dark so I again used a gesso to style it and using coloured hairspray I coated it in a dark orange and red. The result: my Vincent Van Gogh masterpiece!
