UPS Delivery Truck Costume

This costume remains to be a favorite among family and friends out of all our son's costumes so far. This is also the costume that our son played with the most even after Halloween.

At the start of each school year we always ask our son what he wants to be when he grows up (it changes every year!) and that's what we write on those first day of school chalkboard signs. So when he was three about to enter Pre-K, he said that he wanted to be a UPS Guy! And so for Halloween, his wish was granted.

My husband started off by finding a box big enough to go over my son's ride on coupe (I guess all those boxes from packages delivered by the UPS guy was put to good). He then cut out portions of the box and attached pieces together to make it look like a UPS truck. He also made sure that there was an opening on one side to allow my son to go in and out of his "truck" freely without having to remove the box. As an added feature in case our son just wanted to be pushed on his coupe instead of using his feet to "drive" it, my husband cut a portion that will open and close over the top of the truck where the handle of the coupe is. He then painted the assembled box a glossy brown then I printed several sizes of the UPS logo, headlights and tail lights which I glued on to the back, sides and front of the truck.
