This homemade costume for kids entered our 2012 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Kelly, the 'Turtle' costume creator:
Louis (4 yrs) wanted to be a turtle. This was a fairly easy costume to put together. I found a cheap backpack from the thrift store, covered in green fabric (I don't sew, just pinned with safety pins!), used electrical tape for the lines on the shell and stuffed it with newspapers. Painted a mask green and had him wear a green sweatshirt and green gloves.
