A word from Angelina, the 'Thor Girl' costume creator:

My name is Angelina Brown and I have an obsession with the God of Thunder....THOR! Ever since I could hold a crayon I've been drawing and creating my own world of my own imagination. When I was little I would watch cartoons and long to become one of the people that made those cartoons. My early fascination with art eventually spread to my love of comic books....and it just so happens that my first comic book was a Marvel comic book...."The Mighty Thor"!!! I've been hooked on Thor ever since! Thor literally owns an ENTIRE universe, but instead he chooses Earth and more importantly Jane. His power and yet humble character has been a hug role in my life....no matter what I accomplish, it means nothing with out the people who are special to me in my life. Thor was my inspiration for this Thor Girl costume and I never felt more complete in my life. This was a relatively cheap costume to make since all that I needed was a mighty HAMMER, helmet, armor and a cape. The most vital piece of the costume, Mjolnir, literally is just cardboard and craft foam, felt and only cost $2 to make. I simply cut out the hammer shape from some cardboard boxes I had from when I moved, hot glued them together painted them, lined the outside of the hammer with the foam and painted the foam and added all the definition that I wished. The handle is just an aluminum foil roll painted and felt wrapped around the outside. The next piece of my costume that took the longest to make was my armor, or breast plate. I took one of my old bras painted it, and then once again used craft foam to create the more defined design of armor, and since i already had the bra this piece of the costume only cost me $3. The helmet....you guessed it.....was made with craft foam! I simply took a headband and designed my helmet around it. The whole entire costume probably cost me about $10 and about 12 hours to make since I already had most of the materials laying around, for example the cape is just an infinity scarf. I would say that I more fun making the costume than anything! I got to express myself, become a God for the night, and totally owned Halloween this year!
