The Walking Dead Costume

I play the part of Rick Grimes in the middle. Aside from growing a beard, most of the costume was rounded up with older clothes. A fake revolver, holster and machete totaled around $50. My wife is Michonne. She also purchased her clothes from various stores. Her katana and headband totaled around $20. My brothers can be seen as Carl (also in various clothes) and the zombie (a little shirt tearing, rolling in dirt and makeup application does wonders). We also have a family friend who went as Daryl Dixon. His bow cost $20. Our idea came from the hit tv show, The Walking Dead. We're all huge fans and wanted to showcase it as a theme for trick or treaters. We staged a "zombie breakout" and had the kids grab candy while we dealt with the walkers. It was a hit!
