The Elf on the Shelf Costume

Even though my costume is a Christmas themed one, I couldn't help but go as The Elf on the Shelf. And I figured since I was walking my little brother's from house to house, that there wasn't any reason I couldn't join in on the trick or treating festivities! I started by trying to find a red bodysuit online. I didn't really want to do a red long sleeve and leggings, because I wanted the full effect that the bodysuit would give. I found one on amazon that worked perfectly! I also ordered some red ballet slippers from amazon. That way it didn't really look like I had shoes on, but I still had something covering my feet. I bought a white skirt and a Santa hat from Walmart. Then I just used some fabric glue to secure some red snowflakes to the skirt. I stuck a party hat inside of my Santa hat so it would stand up straight. I just made some white mittens out of felt, but you can buy some online if you don't feel like making them by hand. I also got enough white felt so that I could make the collar. I just traced a pattern that I found online and sewed it to the rim of the material around the neck. To top it off, I put some little freckles on my face just to add a little something. This costume was so fun and definitely made people look twice. I even had two little girls come up to me and ask to take a picture with me! Can't wait for next years costume!
