A word from Eric, the 'The Covid-19 Safety Duck' costume creator:

I conceived and pieced together this costume that I'm wearing myself. My friend told me I looked like a duck, so I made that part of my costume name. I bought both the steampunk plague doctor mask for $18 and the disposable chemical resistant coveralls for $21 online. I was gifted the "nuisance" bamboo from the back yard of a friend after I asked for a recommendation for free bamboo on social media. The leather gloves I've had for a long time. I used old shoelaces to cinch the coveralls around the ankles. The suit was also quite warm - if a next time, instead of DuPont Tychem material, I would choose a material more breathable. I made a small red flag reading "6ft" and placed it at the end of the bamboo "measuring stick" which doubles as a multi-tool, capable of also being used to aid in hiking as well as defending oneself like Morgan from The Walking Dead with his bō/staff. So that and the chem-suit will be put with my go-bag so I'll be ready when the chocolate fudge ice cream hits the fan. Earthquake anyone?

I had a lot of fun with this costume, including entertaining the crowds and helping "direct traffic" on Broadway St at Pioneer Square after the election results.
