Scrap Metal Queen of the Apocalypse Costume

Growing up my family had always made a big deal over Halloween, and always made our own costumes. Now as a grown up I have kept the tradition going trying to make each years costume more hideous, scary and terrifying than the last. I usually like to create my own characters from my imagination. 100% of this costume is handmade and took about 6 weeks to make. The headpiece, shoulder armor, chest armor, and the cage is mostly made of thermoplastic material, craft foam, metallic wax paint, acrylic paint and cinnamon mixed wth glue for the rust detailing. The fabric is from an old canvas tote that I had soaking in a bucket of vinegar and rusty chains to create an authentic rusty, dirty, apocalyptic look. For the makeup I used Mehron Paradise body paint and various cheap drug store eyeshadows. I was very satisfied when several adults had screamed in fear when they saw me!
