Rainbow Fish Costume

My name is Ashley and I am a recent college graduate working as a toddler teacher now. I say that because my idea was inspired by my little friends! During the summer I wanted a summer themed bulletin board for the classroom. The first thing that came to mind was fish and that eventually led to the story "The Rainbow Fish." My toddlers loved the bulletin board with the sparkly fish so I decided why not dress up for them as rainbow fish!?I have no clue how to sew so my costume was put together with fabric tape.. HA I purchased different colored satin fabrics and a silver one with glitter of course! For the dress I folded a larger piece of satin fabric and basically cut holes for my head and arms to fit through. Then with the other colored fabrics I cut out scale shapes to make it look like a fish. For the fins on my arms I took the same idea from the DIY tutu with the netted ribbon only I made it smaller to go around my arms.Then I purchased the long sleeved shirt, nylons, and sparkle shoes to go with the outfit. I hope my toddlers like it on Halloween!
