Rain Cloud Costume

This is my 11 year old dressed as a rain cloud. Her dress is actually the skirt portion of an adult's gown, I found in the second hand store, made in a beautiful silver fabric. I covered it in irredessant scarfing in grey...with blues towards the back. In the back I place tulle in the seven colors of the rainbow. I took a straw hat and painted it silver and glued on top an extra wide brim made out of foam board, which I also painted silver. I hot glued LED poster lights (switched on "flash" mode). Then I hot glued scrunched up scarfing all over. Inside I glued a headband and foam to stabilize the hat. Finally, I strung clear Crystal beads on clear thread for raindrops and attached. She is wearing gold boots and we hot glued toy gold coins around a plastic black cauldron for a candy bag. In the sunlight this costume was stunning.
