This homemade costume for boys entered our 2012 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Tanya, the 'Quiet the Voices' costume creator:

My 13 year old wanted scary this year...so heres the back story. He is a man who committed gruesome crimes at the urging of the voices in his head. After he was caught and told the court about the voices he was sentenced to Warmsprings Mental Prison for evaluation. The voices were real and decided to rip apart his face to get out...I made the faces and hands from clay and hand painted them, adding red gift tissue paper and make-up for ripped flesh. I made a pattern and sewed a working straight jacket and prison jumpsuit. The red wig was just for creep factor and we cut and styled it for maximum creep.

WOW!!!!! What a brilliant costume! Original in design and beautifully crafted! That is one of the best costumes I have seen this year! I am surprised that the concept has not been exploited in mainstream media......it is terrifying!!!!! Well done!
