A word from Steffi, the 'Poison Ivy' costume creator:

The costume I made for myself this year is Poison Ivy from batman. I first bought fake poison ivy leaves I got about 4 bouquets full of them(you will need enough for your whole body so depending on your size and a little extra for the gloves and shoes), green glitter, white tights, white gloves and sticky foam paper all from a crafts store. Then I bought a beige strapless leotard/body suit from a clothing store. I started with the leotard I glued every single leaf one by one with a hot glue gun and I covered the whole suit front and back, then I tried it on to stretch it out to my body form and fill in the wholes where it was missing leaves because when you put it on for the first time it will stretch and there will be spots where you need to glue more leaves! I glued leaves where they were missing and after it was perfectly covered I glued glitter on every single leaf with regular white glue. Then I took my White fingerless gloves and white tights and I bought olive green dye specially for fabric and I dyed them. Then I glued a couple of glittery leaves to the gloves and I took some black flats for my feet and did the same. I bought a red wig, glued some leaves to the wig as well and sprayed it with hair glitter! The last part was the mask I just printed out a tracing paper from online and I traced the shape of the eye mask and I cut every single piece out and glued them together. I did my eye shadow a darkish green and threw on some long fake eye lashes and I was ready for the night! Overall I mustve spent about 40-50$ on everything but it was unique and well worth it :)
