This homemade costume for boys entered our 2015 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from David, the 'Phillie Phanatic' costume creator:
Our 8 year old son Michael is a huge baseball fan and loves the Philadelphia Phillies. He has been watching baseball since he has been a year old and has a passion for the game. Every Halloween he has been a baseball player and this year he asked if he could be a baseball mascot. His choice was no other than the Phillie Phanatic. So the idea was planted and I discussed this idea with a friend of mine. Before long, the legs were done and the shoes were created. Then the green fur was ordered and the body was made. A shirt too large for our son but too small for the costume was ordered and altered. Finally the head was molded out of chicken wire and a small megaphone, covered in fur and detailed using feathers and model magic. A little stitching and stuffing and the Phillie Phanatic was recreated for our son right down to the working party tongue!
