This homemade costume for women entered our 2012 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Irene, the 'Mortal Kombat' costume creator:

Me and my friends Cathy and Soo made our Mortal Kombat costumes. We are Kitana, Jade, and Mileena. We bought stretchy fabric, cut, and sewed the tops, arm bands and warmers, boots, and masks. Bought the high waisted bottoms. I used an aluminum pan to cut out the blades for the kitana fans. And my friend made her boomerang out of foam. We had a lot of fun making it together and everybody loved it!

Hi Jade,

I only made a tutorial on how I made mine (linked above). If you are similiar in size, I can sell mine ($40) and ask my friends if they are. Depending on measurements I am comfortable on working with, I do commissions, I can make you new ones, I would charge $60 per costume to include the shirt, leg covers, arm and leg bands, arm warmer, and mask. If you are interested or just have any questions about my costume you can email me (mycutebow[at]gmail.com)

Where did you find the big blue fans for your costume?

#9 comment by Irene October 11, 2016

Hi I actually found it at Chinatown (in new york) at an asian market/martial arts store. It was a dance fan that had extra flowly fabric at the ends but I cut it off. You can probably find something similiar on ebay. Chinese dance fans.
