Monty Python and the Holy Grail Costume

My husband and two boys (12 and 10) are Tim the Enchanter, the Black Knight (with one arm) and Patsy. I created the costumes with fabric from the craft store. I painted the boat head and suns on the tunics and flags. For Patsy's pack, I constructed a chair from cardboard and duct tape and covered shoeboxes in blankets and fabric scraps. A cardboard and duct tape chest was constructed as well. I painted my husband's face mask and glued hair to it. The black knight helmet was made from silver vinyl fabric spray painted and cut with a box cutter. Upholstery rivets were added to the helmet and the whole thing was spray painted. Torn red fabric was added to the shoulder of the knight for the cut off arm effect.
