This homemade costume for pets entered our 2015 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Lori, the 'Sully from Monsters Inc' costume creator:

This is my cat Nimrod, she is 10 yrs. old & is really good to allow me to dress her up in what ever I make.
While I was in a resale shop I saw a pile reminants of light blue fur material and it just clicked what I could make her for Halloween.
I hand sew all costumes, i don't use patterns or machine.
This costumes consists of 3 pieces.
I made her a suspender type to attach each leg I made for her to wear.
Her whole body which I sewed addition purple fur in multiple spots and a small tail on back end. I put 5 snaps on, 3 in the mid area of her body to keep close & 2 on the neck area to hold the head on.
As for her head I constructed it from foam & hot glued the fur on.
I filled 1/3 of the head with fiber fill & put material inside to be more formed to her for a comfortable fit.
I made the lips and nose from foam & Blue felt. The eyes were made from a small Styrofoam ball cut in half with white material glued on & black for pupil & applied with hot glue.
I did put a black jersey type material in the mouth so she could see & breath and for the teeth I went to Joann Fabrics & bought jewelry beads.

When I was putting it on her she was purring & as you can see she was ok wearing the costume.

OMG! That's really cool & I agree I can't believe a cat let itself be dressed up, but I can see in the picture it didn't look scared.

I think this cat deserves to win due to actually wearing this costume. The person who made this gets my thumbs up not just for a job well done but training a cat to be dressed up.
