May Queen Costume

I’m wearing my costume. After my first time seeing Midsommar, I knew at some point I would have to tackle it. After purchasing hundreds of dollars in flowers, I read an article from the original designer of Florence’s costumes in the movie stating, “FANS SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO REMAKE THIS DRESS. ITS FAR TOO HARD AND STRESSFUL.” I was disheartened at first, but I refused to give up. I cut, wired, and glued all the flowers by hand on the dress and the crown. I made the structure of the base myself out of wire and the base of the dress using a hoop skirt and a bedsheet from goodwill. The whole thing took about 3 months, but I’d love to add to it in the future!
