This homemade costume for women entered our 2012 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Katie, the 'Marionette Doll' costume creator:

I loved the idea of dressing up as a creepy doll and decided to make it more creative and turn it into a marionette puppet. My sister helped me think of how to create the head piece to hold the strings. It was a fun costume!!

This costume is great! What did you make the head piece out of?

Thank you! It was fun. I made the head piece using: a platic headband I bought at Michaels, thin wire I also bought at Michaels, and paint stir sticks from Home depot. The string you can get anywhere.

Thanks for the help :)

How do you hold up the sticks (where so you attach) ? Where it's behind your head

#7 comment by Suzanne October 28, 2014

What gauge was the wire? How did the wire not fall? How did you attach it?

It's even more fun to check this out... but I kinda blame my parents for giving me the name I have. Here's why--

Drama director: Mari, pay attention!
Me: I am, I am!
Drama director: OF course you are!!

You figure out the rest...
