Maria Franz Costume

Hey, this is my Maria Franz costume. She is the singer of Icelandic pagan band Heilung. I sculpted the antlers with a foil and nail base and provided structure with tape and sealant. The weight was distributed by adjusting the attachments when semi dry. I then used FIMO clay to create a sturdy and coarse texture. I painted the antlers with 3 layers of natural colored paint for a realistic effect and sanded them. The headband was made by distressing muslin and handsewing it to Nordic print textile. The tassels were created with distressed soft leather and feathers. The shirt had distressed and knotted muslin tassels handsewed on. The staff contains multiple bones and a real deer skull with remaining distressed textiles.
