Mamma Mia Dancing Queen Costume

My 5 year old loves the movie Mamma Mia and asked to dress up as the “Dancing Queen” for Halloween since the beginning of the year. I knew this year would look different, but I wanted to make her dream a reality no matter what! I started with a plain gold leotard and leggings. Used a thrift store blouse to cut up the sleeves for the material to sew on her pants and arms, hot glued gold trim and gemstones on. Designed a pattern for the neckline with the excess materials. Painted a mask with white fabric paint and gold glitter, and hot glued gold gemstones to spell out Dancing Queen. I also found an old belt with a cool gold buckle, cut it up to fit and wrapped it with white duck tape for that shiny vinyl look. All together it cost under $50 to make. She was thrilled!
