Lily and Herman Munster Costume

When my husband and I first started dating we watched The Munsters religiously. When we threw a Halloween Party together we decided it was appropriate to dress at the dynamic couple. For his costume we bought a Frankenstein mask at Goodwill and cut the top off to fit over his head and used spirit gum to attach it to his head. The bolts on his neck also were cut from the mask and attached to him. I spend roughly an hour on his makeup and we stuffed his shoulders to make them broader. My costume was sewn together from an old dress, curtains for the large sleeves, and black ribbon found from a second-hand store. I bought a long black wig and spray painted in the white streak. Lily's bat necklace was made out of sculpty clay. We really looked the part! And a year later Lily and Herman figurines topped our wedding cake!
