Lady T'luluh Poulpé Costume

In this costume is me. Lady T'luluh Poulpé has been a character almost 3 years in the making. T'luluh is a variation on Cthulhu, and Poulpé is French for "octopus." She does have her sidekick, Carlow McKcraic'n, her Irish Octopus she adopted from the Amazon.

Between gifts from family of jewelry and goggles, I have slowly pieced together her outfitting through thrift store finds and good deals online. I knew she needed dreadlocks so it would resemble tentacles.

The bustle (maybe my favorite part) is actually a thrift store ruffled top with spaghetti strap ties. I add a tutu inside the shirt, and then take the spaghetti strap ties, and tie it around my waist to keep the the newly-transformed bustle around my waist.

I also pulled out my petticoat slip, I used with my wedding dress, to give my skirt a beautiful, filled-out look.

With our Kansas City Royals playing in the World Series, I had to take a cue from KayCee - The W Guy and use my Victorian-inspired attire to root on our team. So I chose blue for this particular ensemble. It included a hand-me-down blouse, and even a repurposed pair of royal blue gauchos. The top hat is powder blue, and I stacked lace, pearl, and metal-like headbands up the shaft, then topped it with a lace tiara. I added a couple of peacock feathers that are hair clips for some extra adornment, then took stick glue to attach a "KC" patch for some extra team spirit. My goggles are resting atop the rim of the hat, then I placed a dollar store pair of gold glitter crown sunglasses, that are quite goggle-like in shape & size.

A hiraeth is someone who is homesick for somewhere they can never go or can never return to. She is based out of the skyways of the steampunk aether. So - hiraether.

So Lady T'luluh Poulpé is a hiraether from Possum Trot, just rooting on her KayCees with her octopus, Carlow McKcraic'n, for the game on Halloween.
